For years, “I can just do it” felt like one of my greatest strengths as a leader. Thirteen years into helping build Girls on the Run Piedmont, I’m beginning to wonder if it might also be getting in my way. A Type A leader’s very unfinished lesson in letting go, growing people, and learning the difference between what I can do and what I should do.
